Carrinho Agri and ADPP Angola join forces to strengthen family farming and support peasant women

Luanda, November 12, 2024 – Carrinho Agri has established a strategic partnership with ADPP Angola to strengthen family farming and benefit more than 12 thousand peasant women in several provinces. The Memorandum of Understanding, formalized at a ceremony in Luanda, is supported by USAID, within the Support Project for Rural Women Farmers. The project aims to promote sustainable agricultural practices, increase food security, and stimulate economic growth in rural areas.

Support for Capacity Building and Market Access

The partnership provides for the creation of Agricultural Field Schools, which will train peasant women in modern and sustainable cultivation techniques. The focus will be on the use of ecological inputs and the optimization of agricultural production, ensuring greater productivity and a significant increase in family income. Carrinho Agri is committed to acquiring the production of the farmers, establishing a secure marketing channel that protects against price volatility and strengthens the local supply chain.

Financing and Social Inclusion

In addition to providing inputs and technical assistance, Carrinho Agri will facilitate access to credit for the acquisition of agricultural equipment and inputs. This measure aims to support women farmers in the transition to more innovative and efficient methods of cultivation. On the other hand, ADPP Angola, with the support of partners such as USAID, ExxonMobil, AZULE and Grupo Simples, will also be focused on social inclusion. The project will provide training in financial literacy, citizenship and gender equality, promoting women’s economic empowerment.

During the signing ceremony, Ms. Rikke Viholm, President of ADPP Angola, highlighted the relevance of the initiative: “This collaboration will transform lives, strengthening the agricultural and economic development of rural communities”. In turn, Eng. David Maciel, CEO of Carrinho Agri, reinforced the company’s commitment: “The partnership reaffirms our dedication to sustainable development and the appreciation of peasant women, a key piece for the future of agriculture in Angola”.
