IFC Director General Makhtar Diop visits the Cart Industrial Complex

The Director General of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Makhtar Diop, carried out, this Friday, December 12, an official visit to the Cart Industrial Complex (CIC), located in the Taka neighborhood, in Benguela. The person in charge and his entourage were received by the CEO of Grupo Cart, Nelson Cart, accompanied by the CEO of Cart Indústria, Décio Catarro.

The trip was part of his four-day work agenda to Angola, which began on 9 December, dedicated to monitoring the Lobito Corridor and analysing the activities carried out by the Cart Group in the agro-industrial sector.

The purpose of the visit was to assess the level of industrial development of the company and to identify opportunities for cooperation in the field of agriculture and food safety. Grupo Cart, the largest agro-industrial company in the country, owns the only food complex in the world that brings together 18 factories certified by the international standard FSSC 22000, which positions the organization as a potential strategic partner for financing projects structured by IFC.
