Social Responsibility

More than a business group, we are an agent of social transformation committed to the sustainable development of Angola and the well-being of our communities. Guided by the vision of our CEO, Nelson Carrinho, to "use all our resources and knowledge to make the communities in which we operate a better place", we have implemented several initiatives that positively impact people's lives.

Work

Our work was recognized when, in 2024, we were awarded the Sirius Award in the Social Responsibility category. This achievement, awarded by Deloitte in its 10th Edition, is a testament to our role as agents of positive change in Angola.

Compromise

Our commitment to Social Responsibility is continuous. Through innovative actions and strategic partnerships, we will continue to positively impact people's lives and build a better future for Angola.

School Lunch Program

We believe that education is the basis of a truly promising future.

For this reason, we invest in projects that complement the learning process and contribute to the preparation of children for the challenges of the contemporary world.

Among the pillars of our performance is the School Lunch Program, launched in 2021, which ensures nutritionally balanced meals for thousands of Angolan children from needy communities, with a direct impact on their well-being and school performance.

Currently, the program covers 302,850 children, distributed in 504 schools in 10 provinces of the country. In addition to the positive effects on educational institutions, the program generates 1,601 direct and indirect jobs, reinforcing the sustainable development of the communities involved.

In 2024, we reached the mark of more than 100 million lunches distributed; Today, this number already amounts to 167,016,027 meals. This milestone highlights our commitment to improving the living conditions of Angolan children and to the socio-economic progress of local communities.

Together, we continue to cultivate a brighter future for generations to come.

Agricultural Development Program

Carrinho Agri is proud to assert itself as a pioneer company in the process of agricultural transformation in Angola, investing in the development of small local farmers, moving them from subsistence agriculture to businesses that thrive in the market.

Therefore, in 2020 the Agricultural Development Program was born as part of the commitment to reintegrate family farming into the national economy, representing about 80% of total production and, in this way, achieving self-sufficiency in raw materials for industrial production.

Currently, we support more than 75 thousand families, which contributes to increasing their production capacity and income generation. By 20230, we expect to include 2 million families in the Agricultural Development Program.

Since its implementation, this program has made a difference in the communities in which it operates. Opening regional offices, working with farmers and local labor contributes to reducing unemployment and values skilled staff who know their community best. This work is in line with the company’s vision for 2030, which aims to positively impact Angola’s families, agricultural sector and economy.

Food Reuse Program Carrinho

The Carrinho Food Reuse Program (PRAC) reflects our link with family values and was launched in December 2023 with the aim of strengthening food security for the most disadvantaged populations.

This pioneering initiative transforms the way we manage surplus food in our factories, enabling food in good condition, but without commercial value, to reach the people most in need in Angola’s 18 provinces. What would once have been wasted, is now a blessing to all those who need it greatly.

Recognizing the importance of this challenge, we decided to collaborate with faith-based organizations, which have significant social reach with communities, to ensure that food reaches those most in need effectively.

To date, PRAC has distributed more than 4 thousand tons of food to churches and civil society entities, benefiting thousands of people across the country. This initiative turns waste into hope and goes hand in hand with our commitment to feed Angola.
